Canadian-American violinist Maude Cloutier is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at the Juilliard School as a Jerome L. Greene Fellow studying with Laurie Smukler. She made her solo debut with orchestra at age 13 in the Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis, and most recently, she won Grand Prize at the 2026 Adelphi Orchestra Young Artist Competition, Strings Division First Place at the 2025 Tuesday Musical Scholarship Competition, and was a finalist in Juilliard’s 2025 Violin Concerto Competition. Her 2025-26 season consisted of multiple appearances at the Juilliard School and the NYC area as well as chamber music performances at Music from the Western Reserve and M.U.S.i.C. (Cleveland, OH), Chamber Music Charleston (SC), Close Encounters with Music (Great Barrington, MA) and Masterclasses with Prof. Mihaela Martin at the Sarasate Academy in Madrid, Spain. A passionate chamber musician, she attends the Perlman Music Program Chamber Music Workshop and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival this summer, is a three-time alumna of the Kneisel Hall Young Artist Program, and has enjoyed various experiences with both contemporary music and historical performance. At Juilliard, she also studies baroque violin with Dr. Robert Mealy, and joins the Honors Chamber Music cohort for the 2026-27 academic year. 

Growing up, Maude enjoyed alpine ski racing almost as much as playing the violin - and still loves spending a lot of time outside all year round. Maude also loves Saturday Night Live, card games, intense philosophical conversations and laying down in the grass.
